HSIA Implementation Process
Once you have placed your order for High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) with Ovation Networks, there are only a couple tasks that need to be completed prior to installing your wireless network; order and install internet access, complete a pre-installation site survey configure the necessary equipment for the network and schedule the installation. The following documentation will explain these pre-installation steps, as well as, the installation and post-installation activities.
Order Internet Service
As a function of your HSIA installation, Ovation Networks will coordinate the installation of the high speed internet circuit with your internet service provider. Due to the special requirements for the robust monitoring of you guest network and the ongoing coordination our NOC has with the internet service provider, it has been our experience that the sooner we can begin our interaction with the ISP the smoother the implementation, monitoring and support will be.
Pre-Installation Site Survey
Before the installation of your high speed guest internet access, a representative from Ovation Networks will visit the property for a formal site survey. The purpose of the survey is to; review the order and expectations with the General Manager, architect the guest network and create a site survey document, which will be the basis for the installation and the final site manual.
The architecture of a wireless network is dependant upon many factors. Construction material, building layout, position of building power, elevators, storage areas and communication closets, in addition to the other RF (radio frequency) transmission in the area all effect how a wireless network is architected.
Once the site survey is completed, we will have the blueprint for the implementation of your wireless network. We will review this document with the General Manager prior to leaving the property and communicate what we will be doing when we return. Additionally, we will discuss some general timelines for completing the installation, the tasks and the individuals responsible for each.
Build Wireless Network
Prior to returning to the property for the installation, our NOC builds and configures your wireless network in our network lab. Building your network in our lab allows us to ensure that all equipment is configured and functioning properly. It also allows us to setup the in our NOC for monitoring of your equipment. Finally, and most importantly, pre-building your network minimizes our installation time, which minimizes disruption to you guests and ensures the highest quality network.
Schedule Installation
The final step prior to performing the network installation is to schedule it. Other than the site survey and pre-building the wireless network, the only other task to be completed before we can schedule our installation is the installation of the internet circuit. It is our policy not to schedule an installation team for an installation until the internet circuit is available. Once we get notification from you and the ISP that the circuit is in, we will promptly schedule your installation.
High Speed Internet Access Installation
Upon arriving at the property, the installation team will meet with the General Manager and review the pre-installation site survey, coordinate the timing of the installation activities and schedule a post-installation review. The team will install the network as architected and test the network thoroughly.
While installing the wireless network, the property will be responsible for making available room(s) for each Ovation Networks installation team members at no cost.
Post-Installation Review
The final contact the installation team will have with the General Manager is the Post Installation Review. During this meeting, the installation team will provide the GM with any additional equipment ordered, in-room marketing material and the site manual. This site manual will be the basis for the team's review of the installation activities, ongoing support activities, contact information, equipment locations, etc. The installation team will also be available to walk the property with the GM as a review.
When the GM is comfortable that the installation has been completed to their satisfaction, the GM and the installation team will sign the completion document, signifying that the installation has been complete in accordance with the terms of the order.
Quality Assurance Visits
From time to time, Ovation Networks representatives may visit the property to inspect, repair, reconfigure and upgrade installed network equipment. Any visit will be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. During the visit, room(s) are expected be provided to Ovation Networks staff at no cost.
